I don’t know how many times I’ve taken off my camera guard and forgotten to remove the gimbal lock (we’ve all done it at some point or another). Well with this brilliant little device has solved that problem for good. It’s a camera guard and gimbal lock all in one. So now all I have to do is remove one piece and I’m good to go, no more forgetting about the gimbal lock…woohoo! It’s super easy to put on and does a great job of protecting the camera and securing it so it’s no bouncing around during transport. DJI should have thought of this from the beginning, it’s so much better and much more convenient. Glad I found this. I LOVE MILO!!

Love the idea of securing the gimbal in place while protecting it along with the lens. As someone who’s had to send a Mavic in for repair for gimbal issues presumably because I wasn’t using the clamp while traveling, I can appreciate this. It’s not quite a 100% fit but pretty close. There are small gaps where the cover doesn’t connect with the drone meaning dirt or sand could get in. I use the DJI sleeve so not overly worried about this. The rubber protector that you can put on the outside of the cover doesn’t quite stay in place. The factory cover has a slit where the rubber protector has a notch and it helps keep it in place. This cover from Amazon doesn’t have that slit and the shape of the cover is slightly different. Would have even nice to include a matching rubber protector or have the factory one work. That being said, the new cover is definitely more sturdy than the factory one. In fact, I was putting some pressure on it and noticed the factory one would bend a lot more. Well, I guess I applied just enough pressure to the wrong place that I cracked my factory cover 😁 Good thing I have a replacement!

If you’re like me, when you received your mavic, you probably removed the gimbal guard and lock and threw them in the box. You’re probably also constantly irritated with the fact that any time you move the drone, the gimbal shakes and slaps into the body, but you can’t work up the courage to carry along 2 additional accessories just to fix that problem. That’s the problem Aterox was trying to solve, and talk about uncanny timing. As luck would have it – I’m leaving on vacation in just a couple days and was looking for something to lock down the gimbal during transport.

Now I really did not have any problems using the OEM gimbal lock and cover, but if there is a more convenient and faster solution, then I am all for it! So, in my work as a news photographer, I am always on the lookout for those time savers that are of high quality and this is one of them!

I’m actually amaze with it

I’m actually amaze with it. It’s a simple thing really. Put it on and go. I thought at first, well there’s a gimbal lock that comes with the drone why should I need another one to keep it in place?

Seems better quality than the DJI part it replaced

I have the small DJI case for my Mavic and keep it camera down in the case. Well it didn’t take long for it to break one of the tabs that hold the clear camera cover. I could have replaced it with a replacement DJI one but took the chance on a combined cover and camera holder. I’m sure glad I did. This new part is better made than the DJI one and I don’t need the hard to install camera lock part. So I’m a happy camper here. Now I just have to find more time to go flying!

Just buy it already!

Bruh, this should be standard on the Mavic Pro. The ease and the efficiency you get with this cover is priceless. Having the Mavic Pro enables you to quickly capture aerial footage, but putting it back into it’s case – isn’t as convenience as it could be. This however changes ALL that and takes out one extra step to ensure safe/secure gimbal locking and protection all in one.
